Fixed: SQlite XBMC plugin issue in Crystalbuntu

Hello, and sorry,

Fixed IceFilms running on Crystalbuntu June 2011. Ignore macroblocking — side effect of sending screen data from aTV to PC

After the May 2011 update, it has become apparent that plugins such as IceFilms or AdvancedLauncher were not functioning correctly. My initial thoughts were confirmed after some logs from users, the issue was caused by a lack of SQLITE module in Python. The solution was to use external python –enable-external-python. Updates are normally vigorously tested to ensure they do not cause problems when deployed, however as this only effects some plugins it was not easy to detect this until it became a problem. This problem arises due to a customised build process in preparation for the deployment of XBMC Eden. This was done in the May 2011 update and resulted in a serious change to the Crystalbuntu installation structure. Such a revamp will not occur again. I am sorry for the time taken to fix this, but I was swamped with exams. Today (well yesterday, it’s 1am now), was my last day, and as you can see it’s fixed already. Looking after Crystalbuntu users is always top priority! With the fstab issue of the June update, I’ll admit it’s looking kind of bad, but this is a work in progress, and you are helping form the distribution, so thanks for feedback such as logs as well as your opinions. They are appreciated greatly.

This problem has been fixed. Please restart your AppleTV to get the patch installed on your device. Updated aTVs will show a June 7th build under System Info in XBMC

Sorry for any inconvenience, and thank you for using Crystalbuntu.

Update: There was an issue where aTVs could not detect the update because an old “latest-xbmc” comparison file was being used. This problem has been rectified. Would appreciate confirmation of this fix in comments please.
